RECTANGLES & SQUARES

š     Square Footage = multiply length x width (example 5’ x 10’ = 50 sq. ft.)

CIRCLES

š     Circumference of a Circle - multiply diameter x 3.1416 (example 10’ x 3.1416 = 31.42 feet)

š     Diameter of a Circle - multiply circumference x .31831 (example 31.42’ x .31831 = 10’)

š     Area of a Circle - multiply square of the diameter x .7854 (example 10’x10’x.7854 = 78.54 sq. ft.)

TRIANGLES

š     Area of a Triangle - multiply ½ of the base length x height (example .5 x 10’ x 20’ = 100 sq. ft.)

CONVERT THIS TO THAT

š     Cubic Foot = 1,728 cubic inches     

š     Cubic Yard = 27 cubic feet            

š     Ton = 2,000 pounds                       

š     Square foot = 144 square inches

š     One Yard of Landscape Stone = 3,000 lbs. • 1 Ton will cover 100 sq. ft. at 2-3” of depth

š     One Yard of Mulch = 500 lbs. • 1 Yard will cover 80 sq. ft. at 2-3” of depth
