Our Bedding and Wall Stone is cut to facilitate use in dry-stack applications. The material is generally flat (or very little clefting) making it ideal as a stone that can be stacked as a bedding wall. We also carry a wide variety of steppers that can be used in conjunction with walling stone to construct staircases similar to the ones pictured below.

Amherst Mountain Stone - This stone comes from Tobacco Row Mountain in Amherst County and is generally irregular in shape. The colors vary but are generally dark and mixed with mixed tans, black and grays.
Canyon Creek Walling Stone - The same colors as come in its sister Canyon Creek Veneer Stone. The Walling Stone is cut much thicker and generally in larger overall sizes. This stone can be stacked but can also be applied vertically in applications requiring larger veneers. Canyon Creek Wall Stone

Chocolate Grey Thick - This too is a big brother of the Chocolate Grey Thin veneer stone. The stone offers a very interesting combination of grays and brows. In the 'thick" version the stone is cut in 3" to 5" pieces making it an excellent choice

Monacan Round River Stones - These wonderful stones come in small (3-6") medium (6-12") and large (12-18") sizes. They are taken locally from farms that border the James River. All are very round, with colors ranging from tan to dark grey. Many come with lichen and moss growing on their surfaces. Monocan Round River Stone
Tan Cobble Stones and Old English Street Cobbles - These stones are cut and range in size from 6-12" in length and are generally 4" square. They are an excellent choice for edging stones along a mulched bed and can also be used on fireplace facings or as a walling stone. The cobble stones come in a tan with black and brown striations and the Old English Cobbles come in various hues of grey with black specs mixed.
