Town of Amherst, Dry-Stack Custom Home

This is another shot of the custom home in the Town of Amherst. The close-up of the front gable shows the detail of the dry-stacked man-made stone and the art of applying pieces that fit together in a realistic and appealing pattern.

This is a shot of a custom home being built in the Town of Amherst. Again the customer wanted a dry-stack look but needed to use a man-made stone due to weight restrictions on the framing of the house. The gable bump-outs required a great deal of cutting to properly fit the stone along the fascia.

Forest - Farmington, Man-Made Fieldstone

This is a spec home built in the Farmington subdivision which is located in Forest Virginia just outside of Lynchburg. This a Chardonnay Fieldstone manufactured by United Stone Veneer. In addition to the stone you see in this picture we laid natural flagstone on the front porch. After the house was completed the builder contracted with us to build and apply stone to two small retaining walls in the rear of the house.

Amherst Man-made Fieldstone

This custom Amherst County home is being built at the foot of Big Mount Pleasant in Amherst County. The home is still under construction with some 2,000 square feet of United Stone Veneer's Chardonnay Fieldstone applied on the crawl space and first floor framed walls. The picture shows a portion of the garage and left side wall. The Chardonnay color is a truly beautiful mixture of burgundy, brown, gray and forest green interspersed throughout the wall.

Monroe, VA, Natural Fieldstone

This custom ranch is located in Monroe, Virginia (Amherst County) and is one of the thirty homes in the Oak View subdivision. This natural stone (called Palamino) was supplied by Pete Rose, Inc. the largest stone wholesale distributor in Virginia. As with most natural stone, each piece is fairly heavy requiring a bottom-up application with great care being given to the amount of stone applied in any one day. While speed is important of greater importance is the need to be very patient during the application process giving the stone ample time to dry prior to moving up the wall.

Wintergreen, Man-made Dry-Stack

This shot shows the gable bump-out covered in a Quality Stone Veneer ShadowLedge stone.

Another Wintergreen Ski Resort project on a custom home on the Black Rock Road. This is a show of the entire gable front of the house in Wintergreen.
