Wintergreen, Associates Building Chimney

The same chimney showing a close up of the stone applied to the top 10-15 feet. You can see that our masons did an excellent job (if I do say so myself) of cutting and fitting the stone and maintaining very consistent and tight grout lines.

This is a shot of the new Associates Building at Wintergreen Ski Resort. The chimney is approximately 50' high and is covered with Quality Stone Veneer's Buckingham Fieldstone. The chimney chase was lathed followed by the application of a mortar scratch coat. The stone was then applied directly to the scratch coat.
Stony Creek, Nelson County - Retaining Wall

This photo shows a close-up of the lower retaining wall. The tarp at the right of the picture is covering the swimming pool. There is considerable dust put in the air when cutting the stone to fit properly and we wanted to be sure not to stain the pool or possibly clog the filtering system.

This shot shows a tiered terrace requiring construction of two 75' cinderblock retaining walls. The walls were constructed in the back yard of a custom home located in Stony Creek, a development at the base of Wintergreen Mountain. The two walls are covered in Quality Stone Veneer's Chardonnay Shadowledge stone. The stone is applied using a dry-stack technique. Proper installation of a wall of this kind requires a great deal of cut and fit of each stone. The two walls were capped with large pieces of natural multi-colored stand-up flagstone.
Town of Amherst, Dry-Stack Custom Home

This is another shot of the custom home in the Town of Amherst. The close-up of the front gable shows the detail of the dry-stacked man-made stone and the art of applying pieces that fit together in a realistic and appealing pattern.

This is a shot of a custom home being built in the Town of Amherst. Again the customer wanted a dry-stack look but needed to use a man-made stone due to weight restrictions on the framing of the house. The gable bump-outs required a great deal of cutting to properly fit the stone along the fascia.
Wintergreen, Dry-Stack Porch and Fireplace, Natural Floor

This picture was taken following completion of a fireplace surround on a home located in the Wintergreen Ski Resort. The work was done in Quality Stone Veneer's ShadowLedge applied using a dry-stack technique.

We worked with the General Contractor to construct a concrete porch and a curved stairway (not seen in this picture) leading up from driveway. The walls are covered with Quality Stone Veneer ShadowLedge stone. The staircase was constructed using wall stones supplied by Hanover Architectural Products. The stair treads were custom cut natural tumbled bluestone.

This picture shows the porch of the home shown in #14. The poured concrete porch floor is covered with tumbled Pennsylvania Bluestone. Note the darker grout lines achieved using a black mortar dye.
